No charm for Mantri Mall

My little one dragged me off to Mantri Mall’s Taco Bell yesterday to eat a bean burrito. Not fond of Taco Bell in USA itself… I like La Caretta in Nashua for my Mexican food…, I cared even less for this Malleswaram franchise!

As I walked through Mantri mall which is like every airport I ever had the displeasure of waiting for hours together in… I found nothing that attracted me. Neither the goods nor the food. The only thing tempting was a poster of Hritik Roshan and unfortunately for all Indian women that guy is already taken  . And of course, ‘”if he happened to be free I bet he wouldn’t fancy me.. that’s too bad”!!!

I was finally glad only when I got back to IISc campus. Even sampige road has become too overwhelming for me. I don’t like crowds, traffic or noise. I don’t like the consumerism. I don’t like the fashions and the lifestyles…

Then why am I considering working again? With dal selling at Rs 100 per kg, bus fares, auto fares, lpg, petrol and everything costing so much and going up, it is scary not to have an income of one’s own!! Why does no one, in the government, care that the prices of all essential goods are skyrocketing?

Now I eat satvik food, which essentially is freshly prepared hot rice and dal with some raw vegetables. This tastes great and now all processed food (except cococola) has lost its charm for me! Don’t like hotel food that much anymore at all!!

I know that to re-enter the money earning life I have to relinquish my present studies and resume different studies.. I keep thinking., just another 6 months… I can easily last till Jan next.. must I quit my Vedic studies so soon just frightened by rising prices?
