We have been fortunate that in the past there were people of the level of Manus, Prajapatis, Parasara and other rshis who continually reformed and modified the system and gave us new and time relevant Smritis. It is time to make one of our own smrtis, apt to this 21st century.
“When a single parent can take on the dual role of mother and father and raise a child with the best love, care and education, it is phenomenally correct that they should be able to perform the Upanayanams and Vivahas of their children, without begging other couples or estranged spouses.”
“This applies to all yagnyas and homas etc.”
“There is no age limit for the Gayathri Upadesam, only willingness.”
I shall personally investigate the method and mantras and find a way to do this. After all Sri Rama performed the Aswamedha Yajnam with the image of a golden Sita and refused to remarry. Some 18 Maharshis and other divine persona attended. Vivahas and Upanayanams are much simpler than an Aswamedha Yajnam.
While I am at it here are a few more.
“Caste, Gender, Race, Nationality play no part in determining any learning or teaching – either Vedic, Vocational or any other. Only arhata (Merit) and Asakti (Interest) are relevant.”
“When a daughter can inherit property and receive the same education as a son, she may perform the dahana samskaras of her parents without depending on others.”
“Donating organs after death, will find a better place in heaven.”
“All very seriously ill people have a ‘Right To Die’, if they want to, in a dignified way, without wasting the resources of the living.”
