All Hindus should be made Brahmins!

http://satyaphoto.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/dsc00263.jpg?w=300&h=225&h=224

I think that  all our religious and divine pitadhipathis etc should hold one simple mass ceremony and invest all alike Hindu men, women and children of all castes with the sacred thread, teach them the Gayathri Mantram and convert them to brahmins.

There have been instances in history where certain kings have done this ‘conversion to brahmins’ of selected people in the past.

When caste based division of labour is out of date, then why do we need 4000 castes in India? One will do.

All legal bodies should help poor people of all castes and do away with caste based distinctions.

The only Hindu caste should be Indian. Foreign Hindus can also be made brahmins. But they can retain their own nationality.

It is a very good and a brave idea. I am interested to know what would be the motive of such conversion ? what can we achieve out of it ?

We are in such a situation in the country , where brahmins are no longer seen as an elite caste or considered the set of learned people. People may ask – why Brahmin and why not “XYZ” caste.

  2. 1. All non-brahmin caste associations are anti brahmin, with resentment against a “brahmin-superiority-complex”.
    2. Even a few months a ago the dalits in a village were kept out by the OBCs just one caste “higher”.
    3. If all those who are Hindus are converted to Brahmin Kula, allowed all the “privileges” of a brahmin kula like vedic studies and upanayana samskara by the Matha Heads, it will have dharmic sanctity.
    4. Not to have a casteless religion, but to have a highest caste religion.
    5. Anyway, today Vedic studies are available to all. If the Brahmin varna status is also offered to all by the dharmic authorities, then there will be no basis for superiority.
    6. If someone feels that there caste is better and they would like to keep it, then fine, that is their wish.
    7. But the “exclusive”brahman varna” should be available to anyone who wants it.

Excellent. Now I see your point. Isn’t it said in Bhagavad Gita (?) that all people are decided their caste by their deeds and not by their birth ?.
    This thought is very similar.
