Ahhahahaha.
One of the greatest joys in my life is to watch the movie Mayabazaar. It is easily the greatest movie of all time. As a child I loved all the Rakshasas in it. Especially Lambu, Jambu and Jiya!
And then Ghatotkacha! He made his cousin Abhimanyu look wimpy in comparision! When I was a little girl and afraid of sleeping alone, I would think of Ghatotkachudu and feel happy, safe and brave.
Here you see him eating the entire wedding feast all by himself!
Vivaha Bhojanambu
Ghatotkacha was played by S.V. Ranga Rao. Taller than everyone on the set, his eyes twinkling, radiating sunbeams, glittering diamonds. A hearty laugh, a deep voice a wonderful sense of fun, full of magic.
