Anant Nag

Anant Nag is more than a Kannada movie star actually. I have seen him in so many language movies. If you are at least as old as I am you will remember Hamsageethe. That movie is beyond awesome.

This story tells of how I got to look at his eyes and tells of the opportunity he had to meet me.

This was in the nineties when he contested from Malleswaram Constituency. The servant maid next door, also worked at “Picture Anant Nag’s” house. And she never tired of letting anyone know about this.

So when, he came visiting the constituency doing the vote asking activity, this lady marched us all up to the front and told him that we lived next door to the ‘other’ house where she worked. (There was some obligation there., otherwise I am sure she would have never cleaned anywhere other than the great man’s house).

So there I was, within 2 feet of the man himself, eyes glittering with the characteristic Anant Nag glitter (watch his movies to know what I mean), lovely evening, big crowd, tongue tied, looking at his eyes as he possibly percieved a  pretty (pretty mute?) lady. I just remember being glad that I wore a nice saree that day and not one of my general rags.

Do you hear me? Then Respond!
