I am a writer (blogger) and a commenter.
I observe that people generally tend to write carefully and comment carelessly.
It is more aggravating to me on my web-sites where I take a whole day or more to create a page of information.. with an attempt to lead to a particular conclusion, and then I get a random comment assuming things that I have not granted or accepted. Comments willing me to accept the conclusions that I am trying to refute.
I think this is because readers do not read as carefully as writers write. Given the ‘comment’ button, they respond instantaneously and say whatever they think. AB has an annoying rating system whereby he or others rate your comment and that gives you feedback on feedback. As a result of which I first stopped commenting on his blog and now I no longer read it.
The only comments I seem to actually like are those which praise my ideas or those that respond at the frequency at which I am transmitting. The rest as I said are aggravating.
I have also looked at ‘backtype’. One’s comments are tracked for life.
As a ‘commenter’, I have found myself appreciating someone’s work only to discover that they have copied it without acknowledgement. And there my comment is for eternity… praising them for what they do not deserve. In facebook, one can delete comments but not on the internet.
Finally I think, that a comment at the wrong frequency, is like a guy laughing at the wrong part of your joke., it’s annoying.

Hi, I was just scrolling down on the list of blogs after pressing on the tag surfer function and came across this post. Nowadays anything concerning writing never fails to catch my attention so I paused here and read this entry.
I think I do understand your point here..Sometimes I just browse other blogs quickly and has no time to read thoroughly and often leave comments in a hurry. Once I complimented someone on her lovely ‘poems’ even though the only poem on her blog was the 4 lines motivational sayings on her main page. That was the last time I heard from her..
Anyway, this blog looks great. I ‘ll try to read it further later.
Thank You
Thanks Jessie, A great comment. Sweet and at the right frequency!
