I took my son to Vidhana Soudha recently. There are policeman everywhere. The park closes at 7 pm.
There are street hawkers, but maybe 10 in all. You can’t climb up the steps of Vidhana Soudha. You can walk up and down on the street in front of it.
Vidhana Sabha is where I took my first steps as a child.
There was greenery, balloons and kadlekai (peanuts). Nice bunny shaped dustbins .. that said “use me”. Bangloreans were so clean and orderly.
Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai?
I tried driving my son to a computer game store in Brigade Road yesterday afternoon. There were policemen everywhere on route, telling us when to start, which way to go. There was no place to park and I had to circle around waiting for my son to pick up his game and dash out.
We left at 11 am and had the game by 2 pm.
We withdrew to Bangalore North and finally took a short walk in Seshadripuram in front of Namdaharis.
I resent losing my Bangalore, my garden city, to this polluted, high-traffic, police city.
We have taken the ‘wrong turning’ in our social development, and that seems to be one-way road to nowhere.
