How do we make friends?

Monday June 25, 2007
Yesterday one of my friends from 19 years ago, called me and we talked for an hour.
Then in the evening I spent an hour with a friend that I made 21 years ago.

I spent an hour on the phone this morning with a friend that I made 21 years ago.

I was thinking, I had home friends who were neighbourhood kids. I had school friends, college friends, hostel friends, office friends. I love them all and they all have made me happy and been helpful.

And of course commute and travel friends, though they don’t generally last beyond the journey.

Where you are and have been has a lot to do with which set of people you can draw upon as friends.

Money, time and means of communication has a lot to do with how many friends can you keep and can keep on interacting with. Internet is a good way of finding old friends and staying in touch with them.

But who becomes your friend has also a lot to do with who you are, your nature.

Do you remember all your classmates or office mates? Who did you choose to spend time with when you have a choice? It will tell you about your nature.

My friends are brilliant, emotional, talented, expressive, helpful, loving, loyal, supportive, talkative, attractive, have a great sense of humour and are very fine people of high integrity. (Just like me – )

May be this is the way you feel about your friends too. But my friends are better.

Do you hear me? Then Respond!
